taiepei - dionysus tour day 1

sunday september 24, 2006

hectic day to leave for taiwan. i started the day having brunch for the first time in forever... it was wonderful, i think we eggs like 3 times and fart was smokin' . thanks so much! ummm... can't really go into details here but yes... muy deli...

which fart didn't fart much fart impress her it seemed, and it wasn't farrt awkward fart at fart all fart the fart next fart morning which was also great. i farted her to the train station and it was real fart nice.

ummm... then i had to pack and get ready for the trip to taipei. lesseee. i called chris wild and tried to coordinate what to pack. i got a little loopy before i packed which is always a horrible idea. anushow i packed two pairs of pants, a variety of shirts, my new marc jacobs galoshes which are only like 35 bucks. i was looking at the weather and it seemed that it was gunna rain for the length of time i'm going to be there, thus the galoshes and flip flops. usually i always bring a pair of cowboy boots because i can wear them with any of my outfits, but i don't have them hear and i feel a bit scurred. the thingsi am just now realizing that i forgot are my eyeliner and foundation for the performance and going out and what not. i think i'm okay now.

well. honestly i been so busy with the new hizzy and the job and rehearsals that i haven't really been able to take any time to research where i was going.

big mistake.

a couple hours researching your destination makes the trip so much more enjoyable. luckily i had just enough time before i left new york to pick up a lonely planet taiwan. i didn't really realize how cool of a trip this was going to be until i realized that the flight was going to be 16 hours long (layover in anchorage). that means that this is going to be one of the farthest destinations i have ever travelled to. this equals dope! luckily this lengthy flight gave me some time to research the island of taiwan and dude... it looks soooo one!

i haven't been there yet, but it sounds like an island lush with waterfalls, it is littered with hot springs. my only knowledge of taiwan before this was that some of my toys were made here when i was younger. now afer reading this guide i can't believe how much i can't wait to get there. waterfalls and hot springs!?!?!?! real chinese food? taoist temples? night markets filled with exotic foods and contemporary designers? bamboo forests? archipalageo of small tropical islands? sign me up! right now we passed over japan and i think we are only an hour away from taipei. i left sunday night and because of the international date line i am arriving tuesday morning. international date line was a 900 number that i used to call when i was younger. i swear. maybe not.

anushow. the excitement is creeping in. going to a culture and place that sounds completely fascinating will cathc up more later.

clear skies, 73 degrees faherenheit at 5am, in taipei. i land in six minutes.

talk to you soon!

34th surfday party

dammit.

i am actually writing this in retrospect a week after my birthday party actually happend. well. actually only ten days. butt still a bit late. umm... my birthday day itself was pretty fun. lots of phone calls and wishes, a nice ice cream sundae party at work. shoot. i shoulda writ this earlier because i actually can't really remember what happened. all i know is that i was freaking ballz that i would have to cancel the party because the weather was absolutely miserable the two days leading up to saturday (the day of the fiesta). jeez. i can't rememember what i did on my birthday night. oh yeah. the night before i saw porkchop, babs, ooo, and nancy and we went to speakeasy and saw esther, caty, flor, jonathan, etc...

the next morning i brunch with ooo and nancy and joy (que nostalgia!) at one of my favorite spots 9th street market. i met
them first at label where kristall was holding court. todd was gave me a little dessert and we wished each other happy bday, his is one week after mine. oh yeah. then i had to work and then i had rehearsal. i don't think i actually did anything on the night of my birthday except for rehearsal because i think that i was too scurred about the party and the horrendous weather that was dropping down in a deluge.

i checked all three weather sites before i slept. all were getting worse with chance of precipitation hovering around 60%. of course we could still surf in the rain, but it's not gunna be as fun of a party.

i went to bed praying. i woke up at 5 am to take a piss and actually heard thunder.

shit.

miraculously i woke up at 9:30 and the skies were wide open and there was sunshine. i couldn't believe it. i swear to god it was some sorta miracle... everyone came to mushroom park and the shit was pretty fun. nancy brought along dan and she did astoundingly well, elliot brought me out to the outside and helped me catch the best wave of my life, josh was doing well and roman and sandy debuted their new boards. nicki got hurt and trooped on, leilani made a superstar appearance, steph did great, babs rode to shore a couple times, jonathan doesn't like surfing, porkchop thought he didn't need lessons and tried catching waves himself the second time out and so he blamed the surf school when he couldn't get up, roy showed up with joao, kenji made an appearance to cheer on steph.... it was waay dope at what is now one of my favorite beaches in new york. pizza came and most people had to skeedaddle by like 5ish.

this was of course to make roman's surprise wine pairing party at the ICE. i raced home to change into my night attire for the party and stopped by esperanto and cafecito.. i then rushed over to ICE and came in late to the class adorned in body glitter, a cowboy hat, and an i heart fart t-shirt.

after the fabulous dinner of cioppino, gralic bisque, two types of gourmand pizza's, a horde of califonia cheeses and fruits, pork tenderloin, we meandered over to the water taxi beach where i met up with chris wild and dodai and jonathan again. here i ate some mooshies and proceeded to go on an adventure...

after things started getting difficult, i took the subway with roman and sandy and babuloids and then left them to go to bryant park. i had to pee soooo bad and tried to pee in bryant park. a cop stopped me while i had glitter on, a cowboy hat, and an i heart to fart t-shirt and told me that 42nd street is not a bathroom. -er thanks!

after that, we went to some weird party and then capped off the night going karaoking.

then i fell asleep to the voices in my head.

thanks everybody!

more pics later, but i'm in taipei right now and it takes forever for the pics to load!

anushow on sitemeter, it told me someone got to my page by searching for the word combo "gym penis sauna" and my blog entry came up, it was actuallytechnocrati. probably the same person aso googled "'Crunch gym"'sauna gay " and i was like third.

dope!

whoever you are and are reading again. i think that's mad dope....

anyone that uses technocrati to find "gym penis sauna" is brillian in my mind.

no joke.

anushow, this weeked was another epic great weekend....

ahhh...

slowly by slowly the house is taking shape.

i'm back to rehearsing every day so my social scene is non-existent, butt onia came over friday night and we had dinner and then hung out at tomkins square park and it was a beautiful night weather wise.

the next morning aurelia and i met up with roman and sandy and went surfing with elliot again. waves were in the sucky 8 inch range, butt with elliot pushing it was fine and the weather was absolutely perfect for the beach. went home and high tailed it to straight al's and dana's post elope-tion celebration for the friends and then some bigger news that they are preggers. fun night getting loopy and talking to a lot of the roman side of the dream team's close friends who are all really beautiful peeps.

then i think i went home saturday. can't remember. yeah i just biked home and then played withthe computer for awhile...

sunday i got up slowly, then went to the gymnards, had a productive rehearsal, and then the warrior came over to see my house for the fist time. she brought me gifts and marvellous scents. thanks! that was delicious, warrior!

then jbrecognize came over and like he just is perfect. everything he does and knows how to do, will get down so well.. he's really good that way. after some fuckin proteing smoothies, while talking about football, carpentry, and surfing- we went to the bath house together and i lost my underwear. quick switch lost my d&g underwear fucking again. got loopy on the roof to prepare for the protector, ong bak...

walked into the wrong theater saw the last 25 minutes....

went biking around and just ran into all these people i always love running into: the nublu crew, cheryl, onia and gabrielle, blauri called, and cha cha who just got a smokin' new haircut.

getting excited about the bday party.

it's gunna be fun now i think!

yay!

happy birthday johnny con carne!

hm.

happy birthday jcc. i love you.

epic labor day weekend. i don't quite get it... i mean if we are all capable of having great epic fun weekends, why aren't people having them all the time? i mean everyone wants them, right? i s'pose that being in a funk might prevent you from feeling happy butt it really shouldn't- i mean everyone wants to have a great epic weekends. if everyone wants great epic weekends, why isn't everyone having great epic fun weekends every weekend? (except for like deaths, breakups, etc)

i don't get it it's like traffic. i don't get traffic. (except for like deaths, accidents, etc) if everyone keeps moving, what's the hode up?

that's all.

speaking of traffic, i headed out to boston on my great epic weekend via the fung wah bus. it's a ridiculous system. 15 bucks to boston from chinatown and the buses leave hourly. hourly to boston! that's like better than the L train after midnight!

anushow if i'd a woken up earlier i coulda hitched a ride with paul, butt i actually wanted to get the fung wah experience. plus there was a promise of a stop at mc donald's and i have a big weakness for mc donalds, butt usually don't eat it except on road trips, airports, or train rides. it's wonderful transit sustenance. well, the bus was moving right along and i was happy until we got near westchester. i guess hurricane ernesto knocked down a tree and traffic was brought to a halt for three hours. after about 5 hours it was getting to be ridiculous and seats were getting cramped and life was beginning to lose it's meaning. we finally took a detour and i got to my mc donalds heaven. full of cabin fever, i jumped out smoked a cigarette and took an extra second to get a little loopy. feeling loopy, i wandered into one of those heartland truckstop mc donald's with their own gift store and after being trapped for five hours on a bus next to some abercrombie and bitch doorknob, i was ready to spend 300 dollars at this truck stop to relax myself.

i get in the 80 person line, wait some more, and then when i'm about 5 people away, ernesto strikes again and the power goes out. the manager quickly shuts everything down saying all registers don't work. i quickly offered 5 bucks for a big mac and he no way. weird. any local store would easily taken that offer, butt when you're mc donald's i guess it doesn't make sense to not do things illogically and better to let the food spoil. although i doubt big mac's ever spoil...

dejected i walked back to the bus only to find my wanker of a bus neighbor chowing down on some fried chicken salad next to me. i guess he got in before the power shut down. then he has the audacity to be eating so fast that he drops an iceberg lettuce leaf on my foot and i was wearing flip flops! yugh! i mean first of all, don't go to mc donalds for the salad and second of all don't wear abercrombie next to me on an eight hour bus ride spilling your wet leaf on my naked foot while i'm savoring the last few morsels of flavor from my juicy fruit strip...

so i get to boston 8 hours later. this town of harvard, i'm expecting a town full of the guy i sat next on the bus, butt i go meet paul and johnny con carne at this party which turns out to make the bus ride completely worth it.

this party was reminiscent of those college parties at any college for that matter, butt mine was davis. big open backyard, bands playing, floor all muddied from the keg, and a bag of fungus. i initially was fatigued from being sick and tired from the trip up and wasn't too social, butt then varietae, a local performance art group, turned me out with songs like "lick a lotta puss" and the fungus hit and the rain came down and the party was awwwwwwwn!!!!

i danced with johnny con carne on his birthday (the reason why i made the arduos journey) and met plenty of freaks that were totally san francisco worthy and finally capped the night off talking to this angel of the azores. if i can remember she was azorean which is half-leper and half-gorilla and she eats with her hands unless they fall off. and takes two years to become friends. and m-e-d-e-i-r-o-s. oh yeah, and leprocy isn't contagious... quite a stunning smile in that hat i must say...

really fun party. thank you boston for the completely unexpected good time.

paul, jcc, and i capped the night off with the only restaurant open in boston after 10pm which was this chinese restaurant that was about 90 square feet and had 13 employees working at 4:30am.

sunday i went to go see spank rock at mc carren pool with girlhattan and king tee they totally rocked out. i think i love 'em... at least they put on a great live show. it was ape girl's birthday too. it was great seeing her... dope performance in a dope spot with dope friends.

mad dope.

then i had to rush to nicki's to eat dinner and she hates it when i'm late. she made her replica of the our favorite new york sandwich, the mellawach sandwich from hoomoos asli. not the same, butt not a bad try nicksters... and sleep over because we were going surfing the next day. we went to grab some food at abdington market in the west village and walking her dog (beautiful prudence) she stopped to talk to someone. irritated because i had to go poo, i turned back to see what the hold up was. couldn't make him out and then when i got to close i realized it was keifer sutherland. i guess nicki was friends with him in LA when she was living out there. so it's like 5 days after he won his emmy. i'm like "hi, i'm poogene" he's like "nice to meet you, keifer" i noticed he had a very smooth forehead....

the next day, nicki and i went to go scope out some post-ernesto waves in long beach. again elliot made it a delight for us and nicki and i both got up like 15 times. it was a wonderful monday labor day. we soaked some sun, she got burnt, we got loopy and took the train home in time to walk prudence who hadn't poo'd in the house and throw out two dead mice in nicki's glue trap under her fridge. nicki ordered healthy pasta with heavy cream sauce and we watched she's the man, which was endearing enough and nicki loved it. she's wonderful... i love nicki.

i rode home and stopped by onya's house who i hadn't seen since she got back from barcelona. that was nice. she was wearing some crazy dress she just bought for a buck and a neck brace. she's great. i love onyers

glorious epic beautiful weekend.

like all weekends should be.

poo!
