taiepei - dionysus tour day 1

sunday september 24, 2006

hectic day to leave for taiwan. i started the day having brunch for the first time in forever... it was wonderful, i think we eggs like 3 times and fart was smokin' . thanks so much! ummm... can't really go into details here but yes... muy deli...

which fart didn't fart much fart impress her it seemed, and it wasn't farrt awkward fart at fart all fart the fart next fart morning which was also great. i farted her to the train station and it was real fart nice.

ummm... then i had to pack and get ready for the trip to taipei. lesseee. i called chris wild and tried to coordinate what to pack. i got a little loopy before i packed which is always a horrible idea. anushow i packed two pairs of pants, a variety of shirts, my new marc jacobs galoshes which are only like 35 bucks. i was looking at the weather and it seemed that it was gunna rain for the length of time i'm going to be there, thus the galoshes and flip flops. usually i always bring a pair of cowboy boots because i can wear them with any of my outfits, but i don't have them hear and i feel a bit scurred. the thingsi am just now realizing that i forgot are my eyeliner and foundation for the performance and going out and what not. i think i'm okay now.

well. honestly i been so busy with the new hizzy and the job and rehearsals that i haven't really been able to take any time to research where i was going.

big mistake.

a couple hours researching your destination makes the trip so much more enjoyable. luckily i had just enough time before i left new york to pick up a lonely planet taiwan. i didn't really realize how cool of a trip this was going to be until i realized that the flight was going to be 16 hours long (layover in anchorage). that means that this is going to be one of the farthest destinations i have ever travelled to. this equals dope! luckily this lengthy flight gave me some time to research the island of taiwan and dude... it looks soooo one!

i haven't been there yet, but it sounds like an island lush with waterfalls, it is littered with hot springs. my only knowledge of taiwan before this was that some of my toys were made here when i was younger. now afer reading this guide i can't believe how much i can't wait to get there. waterfalls and hot springs!?!?!?! real chinese food? taoist temples? night markets filled with exotic foods and contemporary designers? bamboo forests? archipalageo of small tropical islands? sign me up! right now we passed over japan and i think we are only an hour away from taipei. i left sunday night and because of the international date line i am arriving tuesday morning. international date line was a 900 number that i used to call when i was younger. i swear. maybe not.

anushow. the excitement is creeping in. going to a culture and place that sounds completely fascinating will cathc up more later.

clear skies, 73 degrees faherenheit at 5am, in taipei. i land in six minutes.

talk to you soon!
